How Dance Command works for organizers

Run your nights, sell tickets, work the door and pay your people from one account. Your published nights show on Dance Seekers, the app dancers use to find where to dance.

Your first day
  1. Sign up and tick Organizer. We look for you on Dance Seekers: if we find a likely match we ask "Is this you?"; if not, we make your Dance Seekers page for you. Nothing waits on an approval.
  2. Connect Stripe (Money, Get paid). Paid tickets go on sale online only once this is done; until then your page tells buyers to pay at the door, and card taps at the door wait too.
  3. Add your first night or weekly series. Publishing puts it on your Dance Command page and on Dance Seekers at once.
  4. Invite your team and get the Dance Command app for the door.

Selling and the fee

  • One transaction fee: 7.5% + $1.00 per ticket, online or at the door, with nothing on top. The buyer pays it on top by default; per ticket you can split it or absorb it instead. Cash and comps carry none. It is 10% with no fixed part on anything under $10, never under $0.50, and we never keep more than $10 of one sale.
  • Refunds return the ticket price; the transaction fee is not refunded.
  • Take a card for anything (a drink, a private lesson, a shirt) from Money in the app. The same transaction fee comes out of the amount you type.
  • Money lands in your own Stripe account and pays out to your bank on Stripe's schedule. You are the seller; refunds and disputes are yours.

Paying your people

  • You pay a lower transaction fee when you pay your people (DJs, instructors, photographers, your team), and they get the whole amount.
  • From your bank: at cost, 0.8% (at most $5). With your card: at cost, what the card costs to run. Each way shows its cost before you press Pay.

Dance Seekers

  • A published night shows on Dance Seekers unless you untick "List on Dance Seekers" on it. Changes cross when you save.
  • Dancers buy their tickets on Dance Seekers, once your Stripe is ready and the night has one price; the money lands in your Stripe.
  • A weekly series shows as "Listed by organizer" until you confirm the month, one tap on the phone.
  • Share the Dance Seekers links: one for a single night, and danceseekers.com/tickets/your-name for every ticketed night.
  • Your community room (your regulars, rewards, a welcome) is not automatic. At 150 door check-ins you can ask for one and we open it after a look, or we invite you.
  • You see how many dancers tapped Going on Dance Seekers, and questions they ask you arrive in Messages.

Your team

  • Owner: everything, including the Stripe connection.
  • Admin: everything day to day except the Stripe connection.
  • Manager: runs the nights (calendar, staffing, the door, tonight's numbers, messages). No invoices, paying people, refunds or settings.
  • Team: sees the calendar and their nights, the team chat, and works the door, cash and cards included.

Notifications

  • On your phone: push notifications for answers, work and reminders are on once you allow them; news is off. Quiet hours (11 pm to 9 am) hold work and reminder pushes until morning. Change it all in Notifications.
  • Email: messages a person wrote, booking asks, invites, receipts and sign-in codes always come. Automatic emails (the morning summary, reminders, nudges) are off unless you switch them on.

Other hats

One email can hold several hats, each with its own name, page and Stripe.
